Workshop on Cyber crime by Mr. Rakshit Tandon

Mayoor School, invited eminent personality Mr.Rakshit Tandon for an interaction with students of class VIII - XII on 16th May 2017 about the misuse of social networking sites and the various consequences associated to it.

Mr. Rakshit Tandon , Founder/Chariman of A & R Info Security Solutions Pvt Ltd, Cyber Security Evangelist has experience of more than a decade in Security Domain. Marked as Resource Person/Faculty for Cyber Crime Investigations at BPRD Bureau of Police Research And Development forTraining Law Enforcement Officers across the Country. Member Advisory to National Cyber Safety and Security Standards.

Students learned a lot about safe use of internet and the various cyber laws . Students also shared their experiences with him and was highly appreciative of it.
Creative Writing Workshop 
Mayoor School, Noida which has a collaboration with Mayo College General Council, Ajmer invited eminent personality Ira Sehgal for an interaction with students of class V on 1st May 2017. She has vast experience of teaching and conducting workshops at school and college level.
Students learnt various ways to express ideas so that creative writing becomes meaningful and interesting. Emphasis was laid on the importance of research, logical thinking and separation of fact from fiction. It was an interactive session where children read out what they had written. The students had an enjoyable experience and were quite voluble about their ideas.
The students were encouraged to make up stories about ordinary things and add content so that it becomes enthralling. Other techniques of creative writing were discussed. Children were motivated to improve their writing skills as it would be of great help to them now and in the future.

‘Maths can be Fun’ Workshop at Mayoor School, Noida

Mayoor School, Noida which has a collaboration with Mayo College General Council, Ajmer held a Workshop, ‘Maths can be Fun’ on 18 May 2017. It was a good experience for class IV students.

Studies indicate that early training in various mathematical skills helps the child in problem solving and learning advanced Maths concepts. Learning the subject in a fun way develops a love for it.

Abacus was used to teach how to add & subtract numbers very quickly. Students took part in abacus related activities and were excited & involved. They learnt addition & subtraction through fun activity using their fingers. Overall, it was an enlightening and interesting learning experience.


April 2017


Teachers of Mayoor School ,Noida which has a collaboration with Mayo College General Council, attended a workshop organized by tGELF (The Global Education and Leadership Foundation ) at Shiv Nadar School, Noida on 29 April 2017. The objective of the workshop was to enable the teachers to nurture young ethical leaders who will be the future agents of change. tGELF has unique value based curriculum which is offered to students across the world. The workshop was quite comprehensive and informative and equipped the teachers to build a community of ethical , altruistic leaders on the planet who work together to improve the state of the world. The workshop also emphasized that life skills and values should be instilled in the students early in life so that they become good and responsible human beings besides being successful in life. 


Author interaction was organized for students of class VII at M. P. Hall on 19th April 2017. A well known cartoonist Mr. Ajit Narayan interacted with the students. He shared the technique of making cartoon faces with expressions from simple geometric shapes and supporting lines by using imagination and creativity.

The students enjoyed the interactive session and learnt various drawing skills from his valuable talk.





March 2017


A space workshop was conducted for the students of classes III,IV and V on 07.03.17.Around 220 students participated in the workshop. This was the fourth and the last workshop in the series of the space workshops that were conducted in this session.

Children were very excited and enthusiastic about the workshop. A theory session was conducted by the trained educators. The children were shown videos about the various planets and stars. Various activities related to phases of moon and crater formation were enjoyed by the children.

About twelve telescopes were set up in the school ground and children enjoyed exploring the night sky. They observed the phases of moon and Venus. They saw other stars like cerius and different constellations too. It was indeed a learning experience for children. Parents who accompanied their children for the workshop also experienced star gazing with the help of the telescope.


Mayoor School Noida, in collaboration with Mayo College Ajmer, organized an enriching workshop for students of classes IX-X. The session was conducted by a leading career consultant MsNehaWahi, who motivated the students to focus and strive for the best.

In continuation was an interactive and informative session by Ms Nisha Singh (HOD Commerce) who apprised the students regarding the Commerce stream , followed by Ms Kajal(Humanities)and Ms Sheetal(HOD Computers) .

The session was an eye opener for the students which dispelled their doubts and myths regarding the unconventional courses.

To make the students feel motivated and develop a positive attitude towards life, Mayoor School , Noida conducted a  three days’ motivational workshop on happiness and positivity for the students of Class VIII in the M.P.Hall of the school .

The aim of the workshop was to promote self motivation among the students  and build self realisation by inculcating self awareness in their minds to enable them to achieve their goals.  

Mrs. Bindu Parashar and Mr. Puneet Parashar, the resource persons,  with their impeccable  style of interaction,  drew the students from negative mind set and low self- esteem to a total positive outlook. To enable the students acknowledge their strengths and find remedies to overcome their weaknesses, various activities like dancing, meditation, etc were conducted which made the session remarkably successful. In the end a laughing aloud session was also conducted for all the students of class VIII in the amphitheatre to help them connect with themselves and bring out their innate strength and get rid of their weakness.   

The workshop was an eye opener for the students and would help them  in deciding their goals in their lives. It proved to be a great learning experience and students actively participated in all the activities and thoroughly enjoyed it.


December 2016


CLASSES: 3, 4, 5


The third workshop held under the spaceshop work series on 10/12/16 (Saturday) for around 180 students of classes 3, 4 and 5 covered the topic “Magic of Light”, whereby students were given the concept of light and how they are able to see objects around them. Children had hands on experience with kits on same.  It was very interesting and informative. Children carried back home a similar kit to reinforce the concept. 

November 2016


Mayoor School, Noida, which has a collaboration with Mayo College General Council, Ajmer organized a  motivational and inspiring workshop for the primary and middle school teachers on 5 November 2016. The resource person for the workshop was Ms. Avneet Kaur. She touched upon the importance of positive attitude and confidence building in our life and explained the importance of one’s own self.


Space Workshop

The children enthusiastically participated in the second round of space workshop conducted on 26th of November 2016.They were told about the Sun and its Magnificent Family. They did many activities to gain knowledge about the various planets of the Solar System.

October 2016

Space Workshop

A fun filled and educating worshop related to the phenomena behind rocket science was conducted in Mayoir School premises on 22.10.16 . The learnt the various related concepts with the help of fun filled activities . They made a model of a rocket and enjoyed its launching too. As this was the first worksgooof the series all the children were very excited and are surely looking forward for the next workshop to be held in November.



A career counseling workshop was conducted by PRATHAM Education Institute on 5th of October’16, for classes XI & XII. The resource person Mr Abhishek Rakheja, covered multiple topics from the reasons behind choosing different streams as well as different options of Universities suitable with each career option. The students were instructed about the recent changes in college admissions, steps in the entire admission process, like Online Admissions for DU, including cut-off lists, calculating best of four, subject requirements as well as the consequences of changing streams in University.


Another workshop was conducted on 6th October’16 for classes XI & XII by Bennett University,an initiative of The Times Group. The resource person Mr. Aadil Mirza, from the outreach group of The Bennett University conducted the workshop on career advancement. It dealt with four major topics: Megatrends in the future, Global Market Place, New Age Skills and how to succeed in Life. The key features required for success are Good communication skills, leadership, Team work & Entrepreneurial Thinking.


An informative  career counselling workshop was conducted by Pearl Academy on 7th October 2016 for the stdents of Humanities and Commerce stream of classes 11th and 12th. Mr. Gaurav Mandal acquainted the children with various fields in the fashion world. Some of them included fashion stylist, fashion communication, sports management, Interior Architecture & design, media and communication and many more.


September 2016

Workshop on Safe Driving Techniques at Mayoor

Mayoor School, Noida which has a collaboration with Mayo College General Council, Ajmer organized a workshop on ‘Refresher Training and Safety Techniques’ for Transport Staff on 10th September, 2016. The workshop was joint effort of Maruti Driving School.

The workshop involved conducting training sessions on various aspects of driving i.e. traffic education of the drivers, defensive driving etc. In addition to these, security and fire training was also provided by the Training Officer, Security Department on preventive measures to be taken during sudden fire enroute.

A lot of awareness regarding safe driving was generated for the entire Transport Staff of Mayoor School.

Mr. Bijender Singh, Administrator Mayoor School, Noida pointed out and advised drivers for safe driving and alertness during the route. Mrs. SaritaMadhok Principal, Mayoor School advised the staff to maintain a high standard of driving and quality of decision making during their duty.

August 2016


 In an attempt to introduce students to the process of creating green spaces in the Urban Environment, Mayoor School Noida which has a collaboration with Mayo College General Council, Ajmer  in association with Swechha, an NGO, organised a workshop on ‘URBAN GARDENING’  for the students of the Environment club and the  Gardening club on 23 August 2016 in the school premises.

Workshop for Positive attitude and confidence building in our life

Mayoor School, Noida, which has a collaboration with Mayo College General Council, Ajmer organized a workshop for the entire teaching staff on July 1, 2016. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Rajan Arora. He touched upon the importance of positive attitude and confidence building in our life.

It was an enriching experience for teachers and equipped them with a few more methods and techniques to enhance their skills as  teacher and as  human being. 

Workshop for teachers on ‘De-stressing through Meditation’

Mayoor School, Noida which has a collaboration with Mayo College General Council, Ajmer, organized a workshop for teachers on ‘De-stressing through Meditation’ on the 2nd of July 2016.Mr Anish Kohli conducted the workshop which uses sahaja yoga meditation for stress management and balance in life.For students also, it is beneficial as apart from bringing peace of mind, it channelizes their energy into creative channels and prevents them from choosing harmful activities. The workshop was very motivating and also a learning experience as hands on training and practical demonstration of meditation was given.

Mayoor School Noida which has a collaboration with Mayo College General Council, Ajmer organized a workshop for the students of Class IX to provide wholesome education and attune the minds of the young generation. The resource person was Swami Chaitanya of the Chaitanya mission.


January 2016


Mayoor School, Noida which has a collaboration with Mayo College General Council organized a workshop for the students of Class VIII on the topic ‘Adolescence’. The resource person dealt with issues like ‘Hormonal changes’, ‘Sexual Abuse’, etc. The objective of this workshop was to equip the students with correct information to face the challenges of Adolescence.

Overall, the workshop was quite informative and educative.



Mayoor School, Noida which has a collaboration with Mayo College General Council, Ajmer organized two 
workshops for teachers on 16th Jan’2016 , one for English teachers and the other for the Maths 
teachers. The resource person for the English workshop was Ms.Sonali Bhattacharya and that for the 
Maths workshop was Ms. Monica. Both the teachers are associated with Oxford University Press 
The English resource person dealt with topics like ‘Setting a Good Question paper’, ‘Teaching Long 
Reading Text or Extensive Reading’, etc. She also informed about a number of innovative teaching 
strategies such as ‘Socratic learning’, QAR, etc. 
The Maths resource person guided teachers to use new and creative methods to instill group work 
activities that help to interact with different type of groups in a classroom. 
Overall , both the workshops were quite informative and interactive.


Mayoor School ,Noida which has a collaboration with Mayo College General Council, Ajmer organized a workshop ‘Refresher Training and Safety Techniques’ for drivers and conductors on 2 January 2016.The resource person was Mr. Bhavishya Gaba, Deputy Manager , Maruti Driving School, Noida. He gave valuable tips to drivers, conductors and admin staff regarding the best driving techniques, road safety rules, etc. He also emphasized on the upkeep of vehicles, dress manners, traffic rules ,how to take maximum mileage from bus, etc. Overall the workshop was quite informative and interesting.
