Evaluation and assessment plan ( 2017-18) as per latest CBSE examination scheme for classes IX-X

Important points:-

1.     Periodic tests will be held on Monday .

2.     Total 100 marks- 80 marks(Board Exam class X/Final exam class IX) + 20 marks   Internal   Assessment

3.      Board Examination /Final Exam , students has to secure 33% marks out of 80 in each subject and 33%  in Internal assessments out of 20 marks.

4.      Internal Assessment breakup :- 20 marks

(a)   Periodic test  - 10 marks - Weightage of periodic test is 10 marks which will be calculated as average of                                                        best of two periodic tests.

(b)  Notebook maintenance – 5 marks

Notebook maintenance will be evaluated based on–

  •  Regularity
  •  Assignment completion
  •  Neatness & upkeep of notebooks

(c)   Subject enrichment activities - 5 marks

Subject Enrichment Activities comprises of various techniques like Reading/ Dictation/ Debate/Public Speaking etc. for language, Lab Activities/ Projects/ Map Work/ Model Making / Field trips etc.

For subjects without Practicals
Term Test = 100
Only English (90+10 Speaking & Listening skills) = 100

For subjects with Practicals
Term Test = 70
Practical Test = 30

Weightage of marks is as follows
50 % of the Unit Test I + 75% of the Term Test I = 150 x 50% / 100%=75marks
50 % of the Unit Test II + 75% of the Term Test II = 150 x 50% / 100%= 75marks

Final result = 50% of Unit Test I + 75% of the Term Test I
+
50% of Unit Test II + 75% of the Term Test II
100%
A minimum of 75 % attendance is compulsory.
The above stated promotion policy shall be strictly adhered to. 


Note: - Unit Tests & Term Tests are an important part of the assessment. Students must attend school regularly & take all tests seriously.

PROMOTION POLICY FOR CLASS XI

  1. The school shall follow the under mentioned promotion norms for Class XI.
  2. Minimum 33 % marks in each of the five subjects in aggregate.
  3. For all subjects having practical a candidate must obtain 33% in theory and 33% in practicalseparately in addition to 33% marks in aggregate in order to qualify in that subject.
  4. The aggregate in each subject shall be calculated by taking 50% of Half Yearly Assessment and 50% of the Annual Assessment.
  5. Less than 33% in one subject only .The candidate shall be given a compartment exam only once and it shall be mandatory for the candidate to secure 33% marks in the subject appeared for together with 33% in the aggregate for promotion to class XII.
  6. Less than 33% in two or more subjects / less than 33% score in compartment exam shall lead to detention in Class XI.

 

Awards - To be a scholar

-   In classes IX-X a student must secure a minimum CGPA of 9

 -   In classes XI-XII a student must secure a minimum of 85% in aggregate.

    Proficency certificate will be given to students securing 90% and above in individual subjects.

Honours Badge is awarded to students who excel in co-curricular activities during the academic session.
