Marvellous Mayoorians Enthrall with Dazzling Display at Annual Presentation

Imagination and creativity in childhood is the most freewheeling form of self-expression; it facilitates young minds to develop emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically.

The foundational wing of Mayoor School, Noida organised Annual Presentation, ‘Twiddle Tales’ on 11 February 2023 with great zeal and zest. The magnificent event accentuated the theme, ‘Look for the angel within’, was graced by Dr. B. Chandrasekar, Executive Director, EdCIL (India) Limited, Ministry of Education as the Chief Guest of the day.

Encapsulating a fascinating blend of dance, drama and mellifluous music, the spectacular show witnessed an overwhelming participation of more than 450 tiny tots of classes I and II unleash their creativity and talent through seven well-known fairy tales like Cinderella, Snow-white, Rapunzel, to name a few. Dressed in vibrant and colourful costumes as fairy tales’ characters, the little Mayoorians portrayed the triumph of angels over evil characters and hence paving way for happiness and hope. The Grand finale, which was the cherry on the cake resulted in a confluence of mirth and merriment.

The event culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by Pre-Primary Headmistress, Ms. Shalini Khanna, expressing her gratitude to one and all for making the event a huge success.

Appreciating the enthusiasm and exuberance of all the participants and their mentors, Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi congratulated them for the splendid spectacle and wished them health and happiness.

Showers of Blessings: Mayoor bids Adieu to Class XII (2022-23)

New beginnings offer the promise of hope, the anticipation of change in our lives, and the prospect that our dreams will indeed come true.
Mayoor School, Noida bid farewell to the outgoing batch of class XII on 3 February 2023 with great zest and zeal. The Principal, the Vice-Principal, and the Headmistresses graced the occasion with their benign presence and wished the outgoing students luck for achieving success in their board exams and future endeavours.
The beautifully-decked Amphitheatre festooned with flowers and colourful decorations provided a perfect ambience to the fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers and to recollect joyous moments. Each student of class XII was awarded with interesting ‘Titles’ corresponding to his or her personality and a memento as a token of love and best wishes. The event encompassed lively participation by class XI students who had successfully organized and put together a mesmerizing blend of entertainment and interactive programme. The function began with a dazzling Ramp-Walk by the elegantly-dressed students of class XII and was followed by breathtaking dance and song performances by class XI. In a closely contested competition which witnessed an exciting question-answer round, Ananya Mahendru and Aarav Chaturvedi were declared Ms. Mayoor and Mr. Mayoor respectively whereas Akanshi Singh and Shivam Thareja were announced the runners-up of the event amidst a lot of cheer and applause. The grand function culminated with cake cutting and scrumptious lunch whilst witnessing some strong emotional and enjoyable moments enabling the excited zealots to take back wonderful and celebratory memories of the day. 
Principal. Ms. Alka Awasthi, in her address blessed the senior-most students as they are about to embark on a new journey and create a niche for themselves in the world. Reiterating the importance of diligence in our lives, she advised the students to pursue their goals with absolute assiduity.

FUN- FILLED FIESTA AT MAYOOR

Mayoor School, Noida welcomed the winter chill with great warmth and gusto with the much awaited Winter Carnival on Sunday, December 18, 2022. 

This frolicsome day unfolded with emphasis on sensitising students about their social responsibility and commitment towards green Earth by creating awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals promoted by the United Nations . The students organised a Green March and made the gathering ponder over individual responsibility towards planet Earth. Interact club of Mayoor was overwhelmed by the contributions they received and the amount will be utilised for distributing blankets in Raiin Baseras. 

In keeping with the spirit of sharing and bringing joy in the lives of underprivileged, a substantial contribution was made to the NGO SETU by the School to support them in buying winter uniforms and books for the students. 

The school ground pulsated with scintillating music and was decked up with colourful balloons. The day witnessed a thronging crowd of more than 6000 people. Displaying artistic themes, various stalls presented a plethora of games and activities with sumptuous food on offer. Centre stage was the hub of delightful songs and reverberating dances. 
 
The School Management appreciated the efforts of one and all in making the fête a grand success and wished everyone a merry X- mas and a joyous new year. The extravaganza came to a close with the Raffle wherein the winners were gifted attractive prizes.

Extending her gratitude to the School Management, Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi, lauded the zest and zeal exuded by the students and thanked the parents for their support and cooperation for making the day a memorable one.

MAYOOR SCHOOL HOSTS TEDxYOUTH EVENT

Mayoor School, Noida organised its maiden TEDx Youth Event- Be The Voice on 3rd September, 2022 hosting five illustrious speakers from varied fields of expertise that enlightened a gathering comprising of students, educators and parents. The exhilarating event which aimed at promoting ‘Ideas Worth Sharing’ commenced with a  musical extravaganza-Mellifluous Melody and was followed by an insightful address by the Principal, Ms Alka Awasthi. The assemblage witnessed a confluence of erudite and inspiring speakers like Shri Anurag Tripathi, Secretary CBSE who in his talk ‘A Roadmap to Success’ enlightened the youth about the mantra of success through the power of self-belief and determination. Articulating the need to unbox our mind, Wg. Cdr Satyam Kushwaha(Retd), a veteran pilot, Geospatial Evangelist and presently the Director of Indian Space Association suggested ways for converting the impossible into the possible. Mr. Arpan Khosla, a stand-up comedian with numerous successful shows to his credit expounded how he transformed his passion into profession. Mr. Aayush Jain, founder of Teens of God and a young social activist vocalized his thoughts on how each effort counts and paves the way to bigger changes. An alumnus of Mayoor School and national level badminton player Ms. Nimisha Pandey, accentuated the skill of creating miracles with resilience and inner strength. The fusion dance, Rhythmic Rhapsody, filled the ambience with exuberance and concluded the event on positivity.
The engrossing event culminated with a vote of thanks by the Headmistress, Ms. Shalini Khanna.

Mayoor Celebrates Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

Let there be freedom in your mind and body, faith in your words and pride in your soul. Let us salute our nation.  

Soaked in the spirit of pride and patriotism, Mayoor School, Noida celebrated Independence Day with great ardour on 15 August 2022 as a part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of Independence. 
The grand celebration commenced with the hoisting of our Tiranga whilst the atmosphere reverberated with songs of nationalism. In her address, Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi urged the students to uphold the patriotic spirit and fulfil one’s duty towards the motherland with utmost integrity and honour and make India proud with their commendable achievements. 
Expressing their love and reverence for their country, the students presented a spectacular spectrum of cultural programmes displaying the valour and sacrifices of our freedom fighters. A mesmerizing dance drama eulogizing the unsung heroes, ‘Jisne Angrezo ke Chakke Churaye’ which was followed by some fervent patriotic poems garnered huge applause.  The entire amphitheatre festooned with the hues of our Tricolour resonated with slogans of ‘Vande Matram’ and Saare Jahan se Accha’ and filled the ambience with patriotic passion and commitment. The event concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem followed by a plethora of games and activities especially designed for the Mayoorians.

 

Investiture and Prize Distribution Ceremony at Mayoor

Mayoor School, Noida which has collaboration with Mayo College General Council, Ajmer organized its Prize Distribution & Investiture Ceremony on 5 August 2022. The ceremony was graced by Lt Gen. (Retd) Surendra Kulkarni, PVSM , Director Mayo College, Ajmer & Secretary, Mayo College General Council as the Chief Guest for the day and the esteemed members of the school management. 
The event began with the assemblage invoking the lord’s blessings through lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The academic and co-curricular achievers were conferred awards to appreciate their dedication and extraordinary efforts in academics, art and sports. The day also witnessed the magnificent Investiture ceremony with an aura of expectancy as the beaming faces of the elected student council members lead by the Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice Head Boy & Vice Head Girl marched into the gathering. The occasion was attended by the proud parents of the elected Student Council Members, where the latter were bestowed upon with the responsibility to discharge their duties earnestly as they received their prestigious badges by the revered guests. The mega event was interspersed with cultural programmes.
The Chief Guest, Lt Gen. S. Kulkarni, a decorated officer with exemplary service of four decades in his address congratulated the prize winners and applauded the school for its endeavour displaying impeccable credentials in academics and co-curricular activities. He congratulated the newly elected student council members and motivated them to uphold truth and honour in high esteem. Attesting the fact that time once wasted cannot be recycled he encouraged the young students not only on doing the right thing but also doing it at the right time.
Principal, Ms Alka Awasthi, in her speech congratulated the young achievers. She urged the students to succeed and always remember that they are the Champions who would change society for the better with their tenacity, grit, and leadership. 
The newly elected Head Boy, & Head Girl, in their brief speeches expressed conviction in their potentials and promised to strengthen link between their peers and the school management. The event culminated with National Anthem.

Develop a passion for learning and you will never cease to grow.

The ‘Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony’ for Classes I-IV for the academic session 2021-2022, was held on 29th April in the school amphitheatre. The Principal, Headmistress, Coordinators, students and  staff members celebrated the day with great pride as the students were felicitated and applauded for their achievements in academic and co-curricular fields.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp followed by graceful dances and melodious musical performances by the talented students. The Principal, Ms Alka Awasthi congratulated and lauded the achievements of the students and inspired them to always aim high and put in their best efforts in all their endeavours.

Earth Day Celebrated at Mayoor

Earth Day encourages us to reflect on what we are doing to make our planet a more sustainable and liveable place.
The students of classes VI to X celebrated Earth Day on 22 April 2022 with great zeal and zest to spread awareness about conserving Earth.

Accentuating the absolute necessity to nurture all aspects of our biosphere, Mayoorians displayed insightful manifestations of creativity blended with sensitivity towards the Mother Nature. The celebration encapsulated an array of activities like Poster Making, Slogan and Poetry Writing, Planter Designing, etc. highlighting environmental issues like loss of biodiversity, increasing pollution - the burgeoning threats to Nature by humans for their own selfish needs. 

Reiterating the message, ‘Save our world, save our future. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’, Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged them to create long term and meaningful ideas of sustainability.

The grand function culminated with cake cutting and scrumptious lunch whilst witnessing some strong emotional and enjoyable moments, creating lifelong memories.

Pariksha Par Charcha 2022

40 students along with 4 escort teachers attended the much awaited PPC 2022 at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi. Students got the opportunity to interact with our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on how to ease exam fears. He encouraged students and inspired them to treat exams as festival of learning.

 “Grandma Around the Globe.”

“The most beautiful thing in the world is, of course, the world itself.”
On 12th March 2022, the students of class II at Mayoor School, Noida took the audience on a mesmerising journey around the world, through their Virtual Annual Presentation. With music and dance performances, the little Mayoorians  showcased the cultures of different countries. It was also a great learning experience for them. The programme was enjoyed and appreciated by all.

"Happy to be me."

The Annual Celebration of Kindergarten was held on 26th February, 2022. The parents were warmly welcomed with a musical dance. The audience were mesmerized with the colourful costumes and wonderful performance of all the participants. The theme of the programme was ‘Happy to be me’. The story of Grumpy Tree was depicted in such a way that it clearly conveyed the message ‘Contentment is not the fulfilment of what you want but the realization of how much you already have’.  Life is so simple and beautiful but we make it complicated through broad explanations. There’s a thin line between needs and wants. Deciphering this ultimate truth can bring peace in the whole universe.

Space Odyssey

On 26th February 2022, the Little Mayoorians of class Pre-nursery and Nursery went on a Space Odyssey during the Annual Day presentation . They were lifted by the power of their imagination to an enchanting world of wishful thinking.   The planets thus created had mesmerizing candy-land , fairyland , superheroes and  cartoon characters .The manifestation of this dream galaxy made them rejoice and they expressed it by dancing and singing exuberantly.It was surely an out of the world experience for everyone who witnessed their breathtaking performances .

CBSE Expression Series on ‘My Vision for India @100 Years’

I have a vision of a Modern India. I have embarked on a huge mission to convert that vision into reality and my mantra is Development.

As part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), the Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the third Expression Series for the session 2021-22 on the theme, ‘My Vision for India @100 Years’ aimed to focus on the views of students about their vision for India in the year 2047.

In harmony with the phenomenal project held across the nation, Mayoor School, Noida organized an array of activities for the students of classes III to XII from 10 January till 22 January 2022 for providing them a platform to showcase their imagination, literary and artistic skills. Being motivated by the drive, the students expressed their vision for India in future through remarkably written essays, profound poems and perceptive paintings giving wings to their creativity and ingenuity.

Mesmerized by the incredible talent of the Mayoorians, Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi, appreciated their vibrant vision for India at the 100th year of our Independence.

Mayoorians celebrate 73rd Repubic Day with Patriotic Fervour

Freedom in our mind, Strength in our words, Pureness in our blood, Pride in our souls, Zeal in our hearts. Let’s salute the nation on the 73rd Republic Day.

In solidarity with ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrated across the country to mark the 75th year of Independence, the students of Mayoor School, Noida celebrated the 73rd Republic Day with zest and zeal commemorating the adoption of the Constitution of India and the transition of the country to a republic on January 26, 1950.

To highlight the significance of the monumental day, the enthusiastic students conducted a special assembly which encapsulated an array of virtual events reflecting their love and reverence for their motherland. Reverberating with the spirit of patriotism, the virtual festivities looked resplendent in the shades of tricolour when the young students dressed in the hues of our National Flag enlivened the digital platform with a plethora of poetry, spectacular dances, skit and musical performances on patriotic themes of 'Maa Tujhe Salaam' and ‘Vande Mataram’. The ambience echoed with patriotic fervour as the students pledged to uphold the honour, integrity, diversity and uniqueness of our country. To honour the immense contribution of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose to the freedom struggle, the students paid tribute to the great leader on his birth anniversary which flagged off the Republic Day 2022 celebrations. Filled with a feeling of national pride, the Mayoorians saluted the National Flag amidst the rendition of the National Anthem and reminisced the historic sacrifices that led India to be a sovereign, democratic nation.

Quoting Tagore’s patriotic poem, ‘Where the mind is without fear…’ Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi urged the Mayoorians to create a great nation by developing a sense of conviction and dedication towards our country, India.

Mayoorians Participate in Pariksha Pe Charcha 2022

Knowledge is limited to things that you are already familiar with. But creativity takes you further than knowledge onto a larger canvas.

The 5th edition of Pariskha Pe Charcha, the unique interactive programme of Hon’ble Prime Minister with students, teachers and parents has organised an online creative writing competition to select participants who will be featured in the PPC platform to be held in February 2022 through the virtual mode.  

In solidarity with the aforesaid initiative, Mayoor School, Noida has conducted an array of interesting competitions like Creative Writing, Poster Designing, Video Making, etc. from 28 December 2021 to 20 January 2022 for the students of classes of IX to XII on suggested themes like Clean India Green India, Exam stress management strategies during COVID, etc. Exhibiting their imagination and creativity, the talented Mayoorians participated with great zeal and enthusiasm in this nationwide programme aimed to reduce exam stress and bring joy in learning.

Applauding the ingenuity and earnest efforts of the students, Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi, echoed that this innovative movement will foster an environment where the unique individuality of each child is celebrated, encouraged and allowed to express itself fully. 

CBSE 'Veer Gatha Project'

CBSE 'Veer Gatha Project' aimed to disseminate  the details of acts of bravery and the life stories of bravehearts among the students  about Gallantry award Winners, honour the acts of bravery and recognize the military's valour and tenacity.
As part of this project, Mayoor School ,Noida organised a plethora of activities ranging from essay writing, poem recitation, painting competition, interactive classroom  discussions etc.   allowing language enthusiasts to pay homage to the exemplary bravehearts by recognizing and respecting the efforts of the armed forces towards keeping our country safe. Principal Ms. Alka Awasthi encouraged students to be responsible citizens for a healthy and vibrant society, emphasizing our commitment to the country.

Christmas celebration at Mayoor

Christmas is the tenderness of the past, courage for the present, and hope for the future.

The students of Mayoor School, Noida, conducted a special assembly on 24 December 2021 to celebrate the spirit and gaiety of Christmas with great fervour and zeal.

The celebration which encapsulated an enactment of the life of Jesus Christ illustrated the significance of the festival and inspired everyone to spread the message of love and peace. It was followed by the singing of carols and exchanging warm greetings to rejoice the birth of Lord Jesus. The students attired in beautiful dresses embodying the joy of the festivity participated in a number of fun activities like X’mas tree decoration, sharing walnut cake recipe, etc. and enjoyed with their friends and their teachers on the digital platform.

Mayoor School celebrates Hindi Diwas
Hindi got an exalted status in India on September 14, 1949 when it was adopted as the official language of the Constituent Assembly and since then Hindi Diwas is celebrated on September 14 every year all over India with much enthusiasm and ardour to pay tribute to the national language of India. Today, Hindi enjoys the dignity of being one of the official languages of India and furthermore the New Education Policy 2020, promotes Hindi as an important language in the new curriculum.
On this occasion, Mayoor School, Noida observed Hindi Diwas to mark the grandeur of the splendid language and as a patriotic reminder to the students of their common roots and unity. In sync with the commemoration, the students guided by their teachers showcased an enthralling video celebrating the importance of Hindi language and encouraged the usage of it as a medium of conversation.
Reiterating the significance of Hindi Diwas in today’s highly commercialized environment, where people are forgetting their origins, Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi appreciated the efforts of the students for creating such an edifying video expounding the spectacular connotation of the country's most widely spoken language.

Mayoorians pay Tribute to their Teachers

The light of the world, the beacon in the dark and the hope that gives us strength to survive is a teacher.

Mayoorians observe Teachers' Day every year to honour and appreciate the role played by teachers in the life of their students to ensure a bright future.

In keeping with the tradition, the enthusiastic students of Mayoor School, Noida staged an exhilarating event to celebrate Teachers' Day with great zeal and zest on the virtual platform to express their love and gratitude for their mentors.

At the onset of the special day, Principal, Ms Alka Awasthi in her address, lauded the efforts of the students for putting up such a thoughtful show and thanked all the educators for their remarkable grit and determination in ensuring holistic education during these trying times.
A spirit of joy and celebration filled the ambience when Mayoorians, undeterred by the pandemic. presented a plethora of fun-filled activities to commemorate the special day of the academic calendar. The programme encapsulated a beautiful and soulful song conveying the respect and gratefulness the students have for their teachers. It was followed by a medley of dances, mesmerizing instrumental performances, quizzes based on movies, a skit highlighting the difference between the online and offline mode of teaching, etc. which enthralled and entertained one and all present. Showcasing the affection and bond that holds each member of the Mayoor family, an insightful video was presented by the students for their teachers. An amazing presentation by the cultural department encompassing an array of mellifluous songs from the golden era of Hindi cinema marked the end of the memorable day. 
The entire event was hugely applauded and will always remain as a beautiful memory in the hearts of everyone present.

Mayoor celebrates Sanskrit Divas

Our modern languages in India are children of Sanskrit, and to it owe most of their vocabulary and their forms of expression.

The New Education Policy promotes Sanskrit as an important, enriching language option for students in school and higher education. To commemorate the significance of this ancient Indian language, Sanskrit Diwas is celebrated nationwide to promote its revival and acceptance.

In solidarity with the same, the Hindi Department of Mayoor School, Noida observed the celebrated day by organizing a short online presentation featuring students of the middle and senior school reciting verses in Sanskrit and showcasing their aptitude while highlighting the connotation of the beautiful language.

To apprise the Mayoorians about the importance of Sanskrit and its universal recognition as the language containing the earliest literature in the world, such thoughtful activities are organized quite often at Mayoor.

Reiterating the rich tradition of Sanskrit literature, Principal, Mrs. Alka Awasthi admired the efforts of the children for creating such a mesmerizing video and enriching all with the history of the language.

Mayoor organises Prize Distribution Ceremony for Class X

Mayoor School, Noida organized the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony for class X of the academic session 2020-21 on 28 August 2021 to acknowledge and felicitate the meritorious Mayoorians for having attained outstanding attainments in scholastic and co-scholastic domains.

The momentous day commenced by invoking God’s blessings through the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Principal, the Vice Principal and the Headmistress. The academic and co-curricular achievers for six consecutive years were conferred with gold medals, three years’ scholars and honours with the coveted blazers and achievers in curricular and co-curricular activities with scholars and honours badges respectively to applaud their dedication and earnest efforts in academics, art and sports.

The vibrant ceremony which echoed the exuberance of the day showcased the sublime energy of rhythm and melody exuded through the brief interludes in the form of cultural presentations. The seamless recital of a flowing fusion of dance and yoga followed by a spectacular instrumental display performed by the students from the comfort of their homes enthralled the audience profoundly.

Principal, Ms Alka Awasthi, in her address, congratulated the young jubilant prize-winners and blessed them to achieve the pinnacle of success and make a positive difference to the society through their resilience, grit and leadership. She also thanked the parents for the continued support and immense contribution in the realization of this jubilant day.

Mayoor hosts Investiture Ceremony 2021: The Journey Towards Leadership

Mayoor School, Noida held the much-awaited Investiture Ceremony on August 28, 2021, to induct the newly elected student council and bestow the virtuous deserving students with the mantle of responsibility of leading their School from the front with commitment, confidence and competence. The honourable Chief Guest, Gen. (Retd.) Surendra Kulkarni who served in the Indian Army for about four decades and presently is the Principal Director at Mayo College, Ajmer graced the momentous occasion with his august presence. The esteemed members of the Management, Administrative Heads, Parents, Staff members, and Students became a part of the remarkable virtual event through the live streaming of the same on the social networking platform.

A spirit of commitment and dynamism filled the air as the ceremony was flagged off with the Principal’s address welcoming all the eminent dignitaries and viewers. Sharing her prudent thoughts on leadership, she also encouraged the students to keep moving forward despite all the obstacles and challenges.

It was followed by an inspiring speech by the chief guest, a Param Vishisht Seva Medal awardee, wherein he advised the students to inculcate the values of dedication, discipline and determination as they are the torch bearers of tomorrow. He also administered the oath to the newly constituted Student Council and urged them to escalate the rich ethos and legacy of Mayoor to monumental heights under their infallible leadership. 

Saarim Ahmad, Divyansha Sachdeva, Yash Bhargava and Sumit Tahiliani were appointed as the Head Boy, the Head Girl, President Student Council and the Secretary Student Council respectively who through their speeches promised to deliver all the responsibilities entrusted to them with integrity and dedication and take the school banner towards higher echelons. The solemn ceremony was interspersed with a plethora of cultural programmes which was in harmony with the exuberance of the day. It was a proud moment for all the office bearers who were filled with zeal and zest to take up their duties and their parents to witness their children being invested with responsibilities, as they embarked on a new journey.

Congratulating the newly invested office bearers, Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi advised them to uphold the values of the school motto ‘Gyaan, Dhyaan, Samman’ and carry forth their duties with dedication and diligence. The ceremony concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the Vice Principal, Ms. Sunita Dahiya.

Mayoor School, Noida celebrated the 75th Independence Day with pride and patriotism to commemorate the spirit of this momentous day and acknowledge the importance of the struggle and sacrifices of the freedom fighters in the attainment of independence.

The festivities commenced with the hoisting of our National Tricolour, the pride of the Nation, by the Principal accompanied by the other heads of the institution amidst the rendition of the National Anthem. The ambience reverberated with feelings of patriotism and was resplendent in the shades of tricolour when the assemblage dressed in hues of our National Flag witnessed a plethora of motivating performances on patriotic themes staged by the Cultural Department. Expressing their vision of a new and awakened India, the participating students presented a melange of renditions and pledged their commitment and dedication to upholding the honour, integrity, dignity and uniqueness of our nation.

Furthermore, a special assembly on the topic, Jai Jawaan Jai Kisan, was conducted by the students of class VIII I to salute the real heroes of our country and cherish the essence of brotherhood. The well-designed assembly which comprised a gamut of performances to celebrate the historic day permeated the virtual platform with a halo of patriotic fervour. The enthusiastic students presented patriotic poems and songs, exhilarating instrumental and mesmerizing dance performances and ignited the spirit of patriotism among the audience. Describing the importance of partaking in the nationwide initiative, Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, the students encouraged everyone to register on rashtragaan.com and upload their video as we traverse the threshold of the 75th year of our Independence. The glorious heritage, culture and significance of Independence Day were shared with great zeal and zest which made the celebration memorable.     

Wishing everyone on the propitious event, Principal, Ms Alka Awasthi urged all Mayoorians to maintain the dignity of being proud citizens by developing a sense of conviction and dedication towards the country.

Mayoor organises Prize Distribution Ceremony-A Repertoire of Accolades

In keeping with the tradition of upholding the legacy of excellence and awarding the well-deserving achievers, Mayoor School, Noida organized the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony on 17 July 2021 to acknowledge and felicitate the meritorious Mayoorians for having attained outstanding achievements in scholastic and co-scholastic domains.

It has been a constant endeavour of Mayoor to furnish the students with self-confidence coupled with assiduity and propel them in their pursuit of excellence to achieve greater goals.?With this thought, amidst this new normal of unprecedented challenges, the school honoured the splendid achievement of the students by organizing the coveted ceremony on the virtual platform.

The momentous day commenced by invoking God’s blessings through the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Principal, the Vice Principal and the Headmistress. The academic and co-curricular achievers for six consecutive years were conferred with gold medals, three years’ scholars with scholars and achievers in co-curricular activities with honours awards to applaud their dedication and earnest efforts in academics, art and sports.

The vibrant ceremony which echoed the exuberance of the day showcased the sublime energy of rhythm and melody exuded through the brief interludes in the form of cultural presentations. The seamless recital of a flowing fusion of dance and yoga followed by a spectacular instrumental display performed by the students from the comfort of their homes enthralled the audience profoundly.

Principal, Ms Alka Awasthi, in her address, congratulated the young jubilant prize-winners and blessed them to soar high and make a positive difference to society through their resilience, grit and leadership. Appreciating the continued support of the parents during these trying times, she thanked them for their defining contribution in the realization of this joyous day.

Mayoor celebrates International Day of Yoga

Yoga is a light which once lit will never dim, the better your practice the brighter your flame. 

Mayoor School, Noida celebrated the 7th International Day of Yoga on 21 June 2021 on the digital platform with much fervour and enthusiasm amid Covid-19 pandemic to raise awareness about the important health benefits of practicing Yoga.

In keeping with this year’s theme, Yoga for Well-being, the administrative staff, parents, students, and the teaching and the non teaching staff of the school joined the online celebrations and performed various asanas like Padmasana, Vrikshasana, Makrasana, etc. spreading the message that yoga embodies unity of mind and body and is a holistic approach to health and well-being.

Reiterating that Yoga boosts our immunity which is much relevant for our times in a society still recovering from the impact of the coronavirus disease, Principal, Ms Alka Awasthi applauded the Sports Department for the enriching and rejuvenating session and thanked everyone for their support and co-operation.

Earth Day celebrated at Mayoor

   “Heaven on Earth is a choice you must make, not a place you must find.”  

With an earnest wish to bequeath a healthier planet to our future generations, Mayoorians made a tangible environmental impact through celebration of the Earth Day on 22 April 2021.

Creativity of students blended with sensitivity towards Mother Nature spoke volumes of the innovative gesture made by Mayoorians. Flower Art, Cards and Book marks witnessed an overwhelming response by the budding artists. Beautiful Planters, Bird Feeders and Jute bags made out of waste promoted the slogan, ‘Reuse, Reduce and Recycle’. Poems, songs and skits presented sent a vivid message to meet the needs of the present without compromising with that of our future generations.  

This one day programme enabled the students to assimilate simply yet clearly that saving the planet Earth is the only dream worth chasing right now.

Mayoorians Participate in ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ with Gusto
With an aim to showcase their solidarity with Pariksha Pe Charcha 2021, the students, parents and teachers of Mayoor School, Noida are enthusiastically participating in large numbers in the much-awaited annual event.

The fourth edition of the Interaction Programme where our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi responds to questions related to examination stress posed by students in his uniquely engaging style will be conducted online this year in view of the pandemic and will also include parents and teachers along with the students-our exam warriors. 
Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi appreciated the overwhelming participation of the Mayoorians and their parents and urged everyone to celebrate the essence of examinations and not get intimidated by it.

Mayoorians Salute Motherland on 72nd Republic Day

The 72nd Republic Day was celebrated with pride and patriotism at Mayoor School, Noida on 26 January 2021 to commemorate the spirit of this red-letter day and acknowledge the importance of struggle and sacrifices of the freedom fighters in the attainment of independence.

The virtual festivities commenced with the hoisting of our National Tricolour, the pride of the Nation, amidst the rendition of the National Anthem which was followed by an inspiring speech by our revered Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi. Describing 26 January as a monumental day when we observed the enforcement of the constitution of India which declared us as a sovereign, democratic and republic country, Principal Ma’am urged all Mayoorians to maintain the dignity of being a proud citizen by developing a sense of conviction and dedication towards the country.

The ambience reverberated with the feelings of patriotism and was resplendent in the shades of tricolor when the young students dressed in the hues of our National Flag brought alive the digital platform with a plethora of poetry, spectacular dance and musical performances on patriotic themes of 'Vande Mataram' and 'Jai Hind'. Highlighting the significance of the auspicious occasion, the senior students expressed their vision of a new and awakened India and pledged their commitment to uphold the honour, integrity and uniqueness of our nation.

Mayoor Celebrates the Festival of Christmas

To celebrate the spirit and gaiety of Christmas, Mayoor School, Noida, organised  a Christmas party on 24 December 2020 for classes VI – VIII through the digital platform.

The celebration began with a short story highlighting the significance of Christmas which was followed by singing carols and exchanging greetings to rejoice the birth of Lord Jesus. The students attired in beautiful dresses embodying the essence of festivity participated in a number of fun activities and enjoyed the online Christmas revelry with their friends and their teachers.

On the occasion of Children's Day, the educators at Mayoor School, Noida organized a colourful programme to exhibit their love and affection for their students.

Investiture Ceremony 2020: The Journey towards Leadership 
The first ever Virtual Investiture Ceremony was held on October 14, 2020 to induct the newly elected student council. The chief guest, Dr. Praggya M. Singh, Joint Secretary, CBSE, administered the oath to the newly constituted Student Council Members. 
Puranjay Wadhera, Sai Jahnavi Ravichandran and Jaiditya Dev were appointed as the Head Boy, the Head Girl and the President, Student Council respectively. The solemn ceremony was interspersed with a plethora of cultural programmes. 
Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi told the council to uphold the values of the school motto ‘Gyaan, Dhyaan, Samman’.

Mayoor Celebrates Hindi Diwas

With an aim to pay tribute to the official language of India, Hindi Diwas is observed on September 14 all over India with much enthusiasm.

Hindi was adopted as the official language of the Constituent assembly on September 14, 1949 and also the New Education Policy 2020 promotes Hindi as an important language. To commemorate the significance of the day, the students of Mayoor school with the help of their teachers have prepared a captivating video which celebrates the importance of Hindi language and encourages the usage of Hindi as a medium of conversation.

Principal, Mrs. Alka Awasthi appreciated the efforts of the children for creating such a mesmerizing video to mark the importance of the country’s most widely spoken language.

Teacher’s Day Celebration at Mayoor

A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops. 
The enthusiastic students of Mayoor School, Noida celebrated Teacher’s day with great fun and zest on the virtual platform to express their love and gratitude for their mentors.
The programme encapsulated a beautiful song conveying the gratitude and appreciation of the Mayoorians for their teachers, a medley of dances, mesmerizing instrumental performances, etc. which enthralled and entertained one and all present. This was followed by a presentation by the cultural department of Mayoor wherein they presented an alluring   assortment  of mellifluous songs from the golden era of Hindi cinema 
Acknowledging the selfless contribution of the architects of the society, , Vice-Principal, Ms. Sunita Dahiya thanked all the educators for their remarkable grit and determination in ensuring holistic education during these trying times.
Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi, in her address, lauded the efforts of the students for putting up such a thoughtful show and congratulated her teachers for being a part of the most respected and gratifying profession of the world.

Prize Distribution Ceremony at Mayoor

Mayoor School, Noida organized the Prize Distribution Ceremony on the virtual platform to felicitate the meritorious students who have excelled in academics and co-curricular activities. The ceremony was graced by Shri. Arvind Kumar Mishra, Assistant Secretary CBSE, Noida as the Chief Guest.

It’s a constant endeavour of Mayoor School to motivate the Mayoorians to achieve higher goals and in this time of restrictions, school did not wish to restrict the appreciation of the praiseworthy students.

The online event which was interspersed with cultural programmes commenced with the invocation of lord’s blessings through the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The academic and co-curricular achievers for six consecutive years were conferred with gold medals, three years scholars and honours with scholar and honours badges to applaud their dedication and extraordinary efforts in academics, art and sports. An enchanting musical rendition highlighting our united resolve in these trying times touched the musical chord of one and all. It was followed by a graceful fusion of classical and western dance forms- performed individually by the students from the comfort of their homes and edited into a seamless presentation.

The Chief Guest, Shri Arvind Mishra in his address expressed immense gratitude and applauded the school for displaying impeccable credentials in academics and co-curricular activities.

Congratulating the young achievers, Principal, Ms Alka Awasthi, blessed them to soar high with their endeavours and expressed her gratitude to the parents for their unwavering support.

The event ended with vote of thanks proposed by the Vice Principal, Ms Sunita Dahiya wherein she acknowledged the efforts of one and all in making this event a huge success.

Independence Day
 
Mayoor School, Noida celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. All restrictions of the times were diligently followed keeping the safety in mind. The short ceremony started with the hoisting of the National Flag. The school resonated with the melodious sound of the school choir as they sang about the warriors of independence. Principal Ms. Alka Awasthi congratulated everyone and reiterated that love and respect for motherland is of utmost importance. She spoke about the sacrifices of the martyrs and our collective responsibility towards building the nation of their dreams.
In the run-up to the Independence Day, special online assemblies were conducted which witnessed overwhelming participation by young Mayoorians. Dressed in the colours of the flag they spoke about the India of tomorrow and presented songs and speeches showcasing their love for their motherland. Middle and senior school students participated in various activities organised over the week, that included essay competition, poetry recitation, kite flying etc.
A video by spirited Mayoorians was released to commemorate the auspicious day and reaffirm the pledge of taking our country to greater heights. During these stressful days of the pandemic these celebrations, using online platforms for maximum participation, brought a smile and filled our hearts with renewed pride for our great nation.

Mayoor School, Noida celebrated the International Yoga day on 21 June 2020  amid Covid-19 pandemic reflecting the undeterred spirit of togetherness.
In line with this year’s theme, Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family, the Management, administrative staff, students, parents and the teaching and the non-teaching staff of the school joined the celebrations on  digital platform and performed various asanas for flexibility, lungs and concentration like Padmasana, Vrikshasana, Makrasana, and many more, spreading the message that yoga embodies unity of mind and body and is a holistic approach to health and well-being.
Reiterating that Yoga  is extremely helpful in improving immunity  in these testing times, Principal, Ms Alka Awasthi thanked the Parents for their overwhelming participation  and thanked everyone for their support and co-operation.

Fare Thee Well... Best Wishes and Blessings

Mayoor School, Noida bid farewell to the outgoing batch of class XII on 1 February 2020 with great zest and zeal and wished them luck for achieving success in their board exams and future endeavours. Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi, Vice-Principal, and Headmistress graced the occasion with their benign presence and blessed the senior-most students as they are about to embark on a new journey and create a niche for themselves in the world.

The beautifully-decked Amphitheatre festooned with flowers and colourful decorations provided a perfect ambience to the fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers and to recollect joyous moments. Each student of class XII was awarded with catchy ‘Titles’ corresponding to his or her personality and a souvenir as a token of love and best wishes. The event encompassed lively participation by the class XIstudents who had successfully organized and put together a mesmerizing blend of entertainment and interactive programme. The function began with the Ramp-Walk by the elegantly-dressed students of class XII which formed the highlight of the day and was followed by breathtaking dance and song performances by class XI. While reminiscing their experiences at Mayoor, the Head boy, the Head girl and the President, Student Council, expressed their gratitude to their teachers and their alma mater.  In a keenly contested event which included a tricky question-answer round, Divita Kochar and Yash Agrawal were declared Ms. Mayoor and Mr. Mayoor respectively amidst a lot of cheer and applause.
 
The grand function culminated with cake cutting and scrumptious lunch whilst witnessing some strong emotional and enjoyable moments enabling the excited zealots to take back wonderful and celebratory memories of the day.

Mayoor Hosts Odyssey of The Mind

Mayoor School, Noida hosted the regional round of Odyssey of the Mind, an International Creative Problem Solving Programme, on 25 January 2020. The mega event which was successfully held under the able guidance of Mr. Prabhat  Sachdeva , Associate Director of the programme and their team, witnessed a participation of 360 enthusiastic students representing 54 teams from different states.

The event which encompassed a unique problem solving tool for nurturing creativity commenced with the warm welcoming of the Chief Guest, Mr. Manoj Kumar Aggarwal, CMD, EdCIL (India) and the worthy judges followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi in her address, welcomed all the participants, expressed her gratitude to the judges and cheered everyone to put their best foot forward and make the event a great success.

All the teams were brimming with exuberance and excitement, and actively participated in the competition which provided the students a platform to unleash their creativity and imagination. The interesting show on the theme, Science behind Magic, which was performed during the valedictory function was enjoyed and applauded by all. The support and guidance of the eminent judges, from various fields, added value to the event. Reiterating the importance of life skill development among the students, the Chief Guest appreciated the performances and efforts of the students and congratulated the School for hosting such a spectacular event which would enable the young ignited minds to enhance their self-confidence and esteem. The overall winning trophy was bagged by Maharaja Agrasen Public School, Delhi followed by Mayoor School, Noida in the second position.

The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the Vice-Principal, Ms. Sunita Dahiya.

Mayoor Celebrates the Bliss of Reading Together

To celebrate the pleasure and joy of reading, Mayoor School, Noida organized the event, ‘One Nation Reading Together’ at the school premises on January 24, 2020.

The main objective of the event was to revive the art of reading and motivate everyone to seek pleasure in the vast and beautiful world of books.  All the students assembled in different venues with their favourite books and immersed in the sea of blissful reading. They learned about the importance of reading, participated in many book related activities and listened to the stories read out by the teachers which were a thrilling and edifying experience. The entire school throbbed with the same pulse of reading as the Principal, Vice-Principal, Headmistress, Students, Teachers, Administrative, Transport and Housekeeping staff joined enthusiastically to make the event a grand success. The activity of reading together inculcated a feeling of oneness and reinforced the habit of reading among the students.

Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi, explained the students about the benefits and bliss of reading good books and encouraged the young ignited minds to develop a passion for reading and believe in the adage ‘Books are our best friends’.

Sports Cum Cultural Fiesta at Mayoor

Mayoor School, Noida reverberated with vim and vigour as Sports and Cultural fiesta, ‘Kshitij Ki Aur’ was celebrated by the primary block on 25 January 2020 in the school ground. Mr. Rajeev Rai, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Noida was the chief guest for the day. Special Guests, honourable Justice Mrs. Vijay Lakshmi and luminary R J Naved along with the esteemed members of the school management graced the occasion with their benign presence. The event saw 100% participation of the primary wing students and the enclosures could be seen teeming with their parents.

The Opening ceremony was initiated with March Past by the students of the five houses – Amber, Krishanu, Salil, Varun and Vasudha exuding oneness, fidelity and loyalty to their respective houses. Thereafter the torch was lit to commemorate the true feeling of sportsmanship and fair play. Zesty display by mesmeric Mayoorians enticed the viewers during several drill performances like Zen Dance, Yoga Drill, Martial Arts and Zumba. The enthralling dance presentation, ‘Nature Nurtures’ by the exuberant dancers of Mayoor was an ode attributed to the generosity of nature. Spectators held their breath during the karate demonstration and the equestrian events. Keeping Health and Hygiene in preview, the school deliberately incorporated the spirit of Fit India and Swachh Bharat campaigns through field and track events. The students enthusiastically cheered for their House mates during the athletic events. In the end, the Houses were awarded for their performance throughout the year and Salil House received the trophy for the ‘BEST HOUSE’. Excitement knew no boundaries when parents, teachers, bus drivers and housekeeping staff set the track on fire. Surprise struck the spectators during Grand Finale when a hyper-realistic sculpture of Mahatma Gandhi was created to honour the Father of the Nation.

The Chief Guest, in his address, exhorted the students to imbibe the value of sportsmanship and appreciated the event immensely.  R J Naved, in his alluring baritone, congratulated the school for putting up such a fantabulous show.

Lauding the efforts of the participants, Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi urged the sports enthusiasts to channelize their energy to win personal championship and realize their true potential.

Fun- Filled Fiesta at Mayoor

Mayoor School, Noida welcomed the winter chill with great warmth and gusto with the much awaited Winter Carnival on Sunday, January 19, 2020. The fun filled fiesta encapsulated a plethora of activities. From exciting games to joy rides to sumptuous food, it had everything to entertain and enthral everyone present. The school ground pulsated with scintillating music and everyone’s attention was glued to the Centrestage for the delightful songs and reverberating dances.

With the united efforts of the Mayoorians and the Teaching Faculty, all the classes had put up stalls with vibrant and artistic themes. The decor was spectacular radiating jubilation and merriment which mesmerized the visitors. In keeping with the spirit of the carnival, Mayoor was decked up with multi-coloured balloons presenting a visual feast and was brimming with joy and gaiety as it witnessed a thronging crowd of more than 4000 people full of excitement and enthusiasm. The event also saw an exuberant performance presented by the young Mayoorians which left the spectators spellbound.

The School Management appreciated the efforts of one and all in making the fête a grand success and presented a cheque to SETU, an NGO working for the empowerment of lesser-privileged children of the society. The extravaganza came to a close with the Raffle wherein the winners were gifted attractive prizes.

Extending her gratitude to the School Management, Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi, lauded the zest and zeal exuded by the students as well by the teachers and hugely thanked the parents for their support and cooperation for making the day a memorable one.
