Importance of Contribution in Cultural Programme in School

"Sparkling eyes of the young child in the costume of a ‘Tree’ speaks volumes of the brimming confidence he gains standing at the remotest corner of the stage, what to say about the magnanimous, magical and miraculous impact nurturing centre stage performers all through their lives. No grades, no marks can substitute the sense of achievement he swells with, making him believe in himself that he is the ruler of his destiny and nothing is impossible for him.

True Education  is about gaining the knowledge and the skills needed to better ourselves and the world we live in. It helps us grow personally, professionally, and socially. It also helps us become better versions of ourselves as it broadens our perspectives to help us learn about different societies and cultures.

Restricting students to the four walls of classrooms will produce likeminded clones incapable of fighting the challenges of life.  Breaking all the records on the academic graph made by their own kinds, such youngsters find hard to achieve a qualifying score in real exams. Moreover the system fails to develop in the students an adequate knowledge base and sensitivity towards their own environment and community. Our ‘perfunctory' education system tends to emphasise the development of predetermined sets of ‘competencies' to be acquired through rote memorisation with a focus on obtaining ranks and jobs. Not much space is given to students and teachers to exercise their innate thinking ability and individual creativity. It was in this context that Committee of integration of Culture Education in School Curriculum was given the rather broad mandate to look into the ‘What’, ‘Why’ and’ How’ of inculcating cultural values through the school curriculum. Students at  Mayoor  are introduced to myriads activities that give them better insights and let them choose what they enjoy and what they wish to learn.
Broadening new horizons, they get a chance to extend themselves and to grow in their area of expertise. Whether it is Eid celebration at Kindergarten or Diwali in primary wing or Gurupurab in middle and Rakhi in senior wing, each festival  expands our students’ appreciation of cultural values.

Contribution of Cultural Programmes in Schools for Student

A plethora of Inter House activities, lined up each month, boosts the students with inexplicable energy and enthusiasm all through the year. Realising their true potential not only satiates them mentally but also provides an impetus for their  academic performance.

Annual Inter-school events like Synergy provide ample opportunities to unleash hidden talent of budding artists  and manifest them under one huge umbrella signifying innovation and creativity.

Imbibing the true spirit of  value Education, the school has always worked on the principle of  “ awakening a love for truth; giving a just sense of duty; opening the eyes of the soul to the great purpose and end of life.”

May the same sprit kindle in the hearts of each Mayoorian forever!"
