Exploring the Stars : Hands -On Telescope Activity!
The budding astronomers of grade VIII had a sparkling time in the science lab by assembling the telescope and understanding its principles. The objective of this activity was to make the students understand the principle behind the telescope construction and the importance of lens properties and focal length in forming clear images.
The assembling of this essential tool in astronomy gave them an insight that the quality of the image depended on the alignment of lenses and focal length.
Students had a great time observing the distant objects and magnifying their light.
By combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience, students learn how telescopes work and develop a deeper appreciation for the scientific methods used to explore the universe. This activity could inspire curiosity and lifelong interest in the cosmic field.
