UBUNTU

UPVAN, the pre-primary wing of Mayoor School hosted a virtual Inter-School event- ‘UBUNTU’. Ubuntu is not just a word. It’s a philosophy! UBUNTU, a South African term, meaning ‘Humanity to Others’ and also translates into, ‘I am, because we all are’.  We, at Mayoor, believe in inculcating Social and Emotional Learning(SEL) in classrooms and it was towards this goal, we collaborated with all the schools to make this event a success.

It was a great opportunity for everyone to come together on the virtual platform to celebrate the spirit of UBUNTU and reach out to our little ones to demonstrate and showcase the value of collaboration and humanity. The response was outstanding where 28 schools participated enthusiastically in various events and more than 80 videos were received in different categories. The main attraction was the motto,  ‘Everybody is a winner!’ All schools and participants were awarded unique titles which were appreciated by all.

Our Principal Ms Alka Awasthi applauded the effort made by all participating schools. The judges for the event, Dr. Neelima Chopra, SEL Coordinator at UNESCO  and Dr Nandini Chatterjee Singh, a cognitive neuroscientist and Senior Project Officer at UNESCO painstakingly went through all the entries to award them with appropriate titles. Gratitude to all for being a part of this event.
