Mayoor School, Noida organized ‘One Nation Reading Together’ for all the students, teachers and administrative staff of the school on 30th Nov 2018. The objective of the 30 minutes reading activity was to encourage the habit of reading where this simple pleasure is overtaken by the craze of electronic gadgets. Reading provides food to our thoughts and also shapes one’s character.
About 500 students of classes IV and V from 13 prominent schools of Delhi and NCR as well as our own, participated in the event organized by Mayoor School in partnership with Scholastic India. The mega event commenced with the class V students extending a warm welcome to the Guest of Honour, well known author, Ms. Anupa Lal and also the visiting schools, followed by a speech by the Principal, Ms Alka Awasthi and the introduction of the author who read the pledge. Next was a panel discussion with students of classes IV and V where they asked Ms Anupa Lal questions of their choice. She also addressed questions put up by students of other schools. After the interesting chat, our students introduced the esteemed Story Teller, Ms. Sonia Bareja who embarked on an interesting Story Telling session, captivating the audience. The wholehearted participation of the students made the event a great literary affair, giving children a new perspective on books
