The vibrant students of Classes IX, X & XI of Mayoor School, Noida embarked on a captivating journey to Rocksport Adventure Camp in Sonipat. This well-coordinated adventure provided a unique platform for outdoor engagement, encouraging invaluable life skills. The carefully curated activities, including rock climbing and zip-lining, served not only as thrilling experiences but also as catalysts for personal development. The camp's undeniable success reinforced the idea that education extends far beyond traditional classrooms, emphasizing confidence building, unlocking resilience, promoting teamwork and essential life skill acquisition.

Green Future Initiators of Mayoor School

Guided by the impactful mantra "Leave a Footprint, not a Carbon footprint," the Green Future Initiators of Mayoor School undertook a transformative industrial tour as part of the ongoing Carbon Footprint Project at the Indian Pollution Control Association in Greater Noida on December 21, 2023. This enlightening experience, focused on trash recycling, provided practical insights into its positive impact on carbon emission reduction for our dedicated Carbon Zero Heroes.
The visit was a triumphant success, spotlighting the unwavering commitment of our young Green Warriors to adopt eco-friendly projects within both the school and the broader community.

Heritage Walk to Pradhanmatri Sangrahalaya

Mayoor's Class VII embarks on a transformative Heritage Walk to Pradhanmatri Sangrahalaya, Teen Murti Chowk, delving into the rich political history.
School, orchestrated a captivating Heritage Walk Pradhanmatri Sangrahalaya, inaugurated in April 2022, located at Teen Murti Chowk. This site serves as a living narrative, chronicling the invaluable contributions of 15 Prime Ministers to India's development and the evolution of democracy from Independence to modern times.
Aligned with Mayoor School's holistic learning philosophy, this experiential educational excursion aimed to deepen students' understanding of India's political history and institutional legacy. The trip provided a comprehensive insight into the functional composition and historical-political significance of the Prime Minister's role.

A Journey Through India's Heritage

Students of Class IV and V from Mayoor School, Noida embarked on an enriching Heritage walk to the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, a museum dedicated to the life and contributions of India's Prime Ministers.

The museum houses artifacts, exhibits, and galleries that chronicle the remarkable journey of India's Prime Ministers, from the first to the current. Students were captivated by the museum's comprehensive collection, which showcased the pivotal role each Prime Minister played in shaping the nation's destiny.

One of the highlights of the visit was the Nehru Gallery, which provided a glimpse into the life of India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. Beyond the Nehru Gallery, students explored galleries dedicated to the Constitution of India, its making, and the evolution of Indian democracy. The exhibits brought to life the intricate process of drafting the Constitution, highlighting the collective wisdom and foresight of the Constituent Assembly.

Principal Ms. Alka Awasthi reiterated that such excursions are valuable learning experience for students, bridging the gap between textbooks and real-world understanding.

VI Grade Ventures into a World of Imagination at KidZania – Where Learning Meets Fun

The Grade VI students embarked on a truly enriching journey during their recent expedition to KidZania. In this diminutive urban landscape, they enthusiastically donned a multitude of professional personas, cultivating both collaborative spirit and inventive thinking. They eagerly embraced a diverse array of vocations, ranging from the medical field to culinary arts, acquiring practical life skills in the process. The immersive, hands-on setting made an enduring mark on their minds, endowing them with invaluable life wisdom. A splendid day of amusement and enlightenment at KidZania, where erudition seamlessly intertwines with recreation!

Terrific Trip to Kidzania

The best way to make children good is to make them happy.

With an objective to empower, inspire and educate the young learners of classes IV and V about the workings of different sectors of a society, Mayoor School Noida organised a visit for them to the Theme Amusement Park, Kidzania, for providing them a fun-filled learning through role-play and recreation.

Experiencing various hands-on activities, the students played the role of a doctor, firefighter, policeman, actor, dancer, radio jockey, etc. which boosted-up their self-confidence and helped them to learn important life skills and values. Interesting activities like availing banking services or shopping in a department store in the kid zone facilitated them to learn the fundamentals of money management as they explored the world around them. Students had a whale of a time as they made doughnuts, biscuits and pizza and enthusiastically tasted their prepared product. 

Stating the significance of outdoor learning in the contemporary world, Principal Alka Awasthi interacted with the students and motivated them to share their learning and the fun they had in the amusement park.

In coherence with the objective of disseminating experiential learning, Mayoor School, Noida organised a visit to Kiran Nadar Museum of Art for the young Mayoorians of classes III, IV and V for providing them an enriching experience of witnessing and comprehending various forms of modern and contemporary art  by renowned artists from India and the sub-continent.

Exhibiting enthusiasm and exuberance, children learnt various kinds of creativity like Pop Art, Shadow Photography, Zentangle Art, to name a few, through an array of exciting artistic activities. To apprise the children with the meticulous and beautiful photography of yesteryear’s cine-stars and ignite their curiosity about pattern making and colouring, they were taken on a tour of the museum and given opportunities to unleash their creativity and imagination. 

Expounding the relevance of art in our lives, Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi, congratulated the Mayoorians for their edifying and enthralling visit to the museum and motivated students to avail such artistic prospects.

A MEMORABLE VISIT TO RASHTRAPATI BHAWAN MUSEUM 

Museums take us into the times that we have not seen and give us a glimpse of that life…

In keeping with this belief, a captivating heritage walk to the Rashtrapati Bhawan Museum was organised for class IX students on 18 May 2023. This visit gave them a glance of the legacy of our nation's Presidents and the evolution of the Indian Democracy. 

This educational visit not only broadened their knowledge but also instilled a sense of pride in our national history. The heritage walk to the Rashtrapati Bhawan Museum was an enriching experience that left an indelible mark on everyone’s minds.

Exploring the Wonders of Art

Mayoor School students embark on a journey of artistic discovery at the Kiran Nadar Art Museum! 
Mayoor School, Noida took its sixth-grade students on a tour to the Kiran Nadar Art Museum featuring works by 20th-century painters. The tour was an enriching experience for students as they witnessed the spectacular display of national and international artists' masterpieces. The trip aimed to encourage creativity and self-expression, and students got to work on paper portraits, weaving their imaginations onto the canvas. Mayoor School believes in providing a well-rounded education that fosters creativity, and the museum tour was a step towards achieving this goal.

Exploring Rich Heritage and Culture: Our Unforgettable Visit to Mayo College

Mayoor School, Noida, is committed to providing students with a dynamic and interactive learning experience. To further this goal, a delegation of more than 30 students  accompanied by two teachers, visited Mayo College, Ajmer, for five days to gain a deeper appreciation of its rich cultural heritage and educational ethos. The students were warmly welcomed and had the opportunity to participate in various musical and artistic activities, visit the museum, music and art galleries, and attend interactive sessions with staff from both schools. Excursions to well-known locations like Pushkar, Dargah Sharif, and Jain temple added depth to the trip, culminating in the formation of valuable socio-cultural ties between the schools.

A VISIT TO REMEMBER 

In the words of illustrious scientist APJ Abdul Kalam, "Science is a beautiful gift to humanity, we should not distort it." Mayoor School Noida shares this sentiment and strives to instill a scientific mindset rich in curiosity among its students. In cognizance of the same, an incredible and enlightening visit to the National Science Centre, Delhi, was conducted for students of classes VI-VIII. The students got a chance to observe various collectibles and antiques from a range of topics and eras. From the Energy Ball to the Elixir of Life Gallery, the Science and Technology Heritage Gallery to the Hall of Nuclear Power, the visit provided students with the direction much-needed to become future scientists.

Mayoorians actively participated in numerous science shows and offered their insightful opinions to achieve strategic impact, making them appreciable of the painstaking work involved in advancing the nation's scientific capabilities.

Mayoorians Participated in Economics Summit at Shri Ram College of Commerce 

Students of class XII from Mayoor School, Noida attended Asia’s largest Undergraduate Economics Fest, at the reputed Shri Ram College of Commerce on 7th April 2023. 

The entire event was divided into four sessions and each one of them was as riveting as the other. Industry leaders like Mr. Rakesh Ranjan (Chief Business Officer, Zomato), Mr. Hitesh Oberoi (Managing Director and CEO, Info Edge), Mr. Ritesh Chopra (COO, KPMG Global Services), Mr. Kush Ahuja (Associate Director, ACCA), Dr. Soumya Kanti Ghosh (Group Chief Economist, SBI) took the enthralling sessions and gave necessary advice about how to draft an effective CV, how to be inclusive and practice sustainability and elaborated the scope of careers in finance. 
The entire summit was very informative and an enriching experience for the students. Principal Ms. Alka Awasthi encouraged students to participate in events of this magnitude as it broadens their horizon by opening new vistas and bringing new opportunities.

CLASS IX VISITS NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE

An educational trip was organized by Mayoor School, Noida to the National Science Centre, Delhi for the students of class IX on April 5th 2023. The visit proved to be an enriching experience that stirred curiosity in young minds.
 
The students took a tour of the galleries that showcased a plethora of exhibits and covered various topics. In the end, the students visited the Fun Science Gallery which has Hand on Exhibits explaining the fundamentals of science. They participated in different quizzes, played games based on science and loved the mirror illusions. 

The visit fulfilled its aim of imparting scientific knowledge in a way that will remain fresh in their memories for long. Principal Ms. Alka Awasthi reiterated that such visits enhance the learning experience of students and breaks the monotony of classroom teaching.

Mayoorians Enjoy Fun-Filled Adventurous Picnic  

Mayoor School, Noida organised a picnic for the students of classes IX and XI to Rocksport Camp at village Selvi, Kundli, Sonepat on 28 and 29 December 2022 for providing them an opportunity to rejuvenate and reinforce learning and cherish memorable experiences.

Filled with fun and excitement, the picnic conducted by Rocksport aided the students who were escorted by their teachers to escape from their daily routine and unleash their adventurous side by partaking in a string of exciting activities like Burma bridge, Wall climbing, Zip lining, Tractor ride, etc. Adding to the merriment, the enthusiastic Mayoorians enjoyed sumptuous food and lots of music and dance while unwinding in the lap of Nature.

Expounding that picnics encourage team work and help in boosting confidence, Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and motivated all to take part wholeheartedly in school trips.

Mayoor Manifests Multidisciplinary Learning 

At Mayoor, students are facilitated to acquire practical proficiency in addition to theoretical knowledge for promoting their holistic development and nurture global citizens.
In keeping with the above vision, 26 Biology students of Classes XI and XII visited the Indian Council of Agricultural Research for attending the Vigyan Chaupal wherein they learned about various biochemistry and biotechnology techniques and broadened their horizons of learning.
In the same vein, 2 students of Class XI from the humanities stream visited the National Museum at Janpath Road, New Delhi as a part of their 7-week-long contest assigned by an international IIT Bombay Virtual Museum Competition that they have enrolled for. Successful completion of this project will secure them a place in the top 15 teams pan India.
Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi applauded the earnest efforts of the students and wished them success in their future endeavours.

A relaxing retreat to remember

Mayoor School organised a staff picnic to Lohagarh Farms located at Gurugram. The outing to the ethnic village farm away from the din of the city not only aimed at enjoyment and relaxation but also at team building among the school staff. From rural recreational activities to team building activities, pottery painting to a camel ride, refreshing drinks to delicious food, every activity was curated with care and was overloaded with absolute fun that zested the souls and rejuvenated them. Besides unwinding themselves the teachers enjoyed the ‘mud therapy’ amidst the richness of vibrant culture and came back with memories that would linger much after the trip done in a day.

Mayoorians visit ISRO Space Exhibition

On 27 July 2022, the students of classes IX, X and XI of Mayoor School, Noida got an opportunity to visit the A-Space Exhibition organized by ISRO at the Art Gallery, India International Centre, Lodhi Estate, Delhi. 
The exhibition, held from 23 to 28 July 2022, which was a part of the Centenary celebrations of the India International Centre aimed at creating space awareness among the students. A futuristic initiative by ISRO and the Indian Space Association, it provided valuable insights into India’s Space activities including contributions made by ISRO and their missions. 
Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi congratulated the students for the wonderful visit and encouraged them to explore the magnificence of the infinite space.

Visit to Kiran Nadar Museum of Art

Students of classes III, IV, and V visited the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, Noida in March 2022.
They attended workshops to enhance their knowledge of different art forms. Some of the forms which they learnt and enjoyed were cartoon illustrations, water resist art, 3D paper city, Doodle art, etc. Students tried their hand at Madhubani painting, also known as Mithila painting . Another tribal art form, Warli art  was also taught. Art workshops encourage creativity and build confidence.  The sessions were interesting and informative and the children  participated with great enthusiasm and zeal.

Visit to Bal Bhawan

Students of Classes I and II visited the National Bal Bhawan, New Delhi on 13 February 2020. They saw the beautiful Aquarium where they enjoyed watching a variety of coloured fishes whose names were written on the placards.They also had a look at the Doll Section/Children’s Museum,where facets of Indian culture right from the times of the Mahabharata were displayed with the help of dolls and puppets.The Art Section had beautiful paintings and sketches made by children.In the Traffic Park,the students were apprised of the meaning and importance of road signs which help in the smooth flow of traffic. Students also refreshed their mind about the Solar System studied in the class.The ride on the Toy Train was very enjoyable and they saw paintings depicting famous monuments of various Indian States.It was an informative and relaxing trip.
