Mayoor School, Noida in collaboration with Mayo College General Council, Ajmer, believes in holistic learning approach by giving equal importance to scholastic and co-scholastic areas. Students are encouraged to think for themselves, ask questions and pursue their interests through independent reading and research. Our objective is to inculcate in our students’ ethical values, nurture critical thinking and develop a sense of global citizenship. Curriculum in scholastic areas based on core subjects focuses on knowledge, concepts, skills, and ideas.

The Scholastic area mostly includes test marks, notebook upkeep and subject enrichment. A test that measures verbal and mathematical abilities and achievement in a specific subject. Scholastic areas include all those academic activities which are associated with various subjects. It works as a mission to boost the intellectual and individual growth of all children.  Students are gauged on various features during the term for all topics, including oral and written examinations, cycle tests, activities and daily class performances. With effective co-teaching, students are exposed to daily lessons in encouragement, politeness, teamwork, and support without having to open a book. It is rightly said by Martin Luther King -

Students are encouraged to excel in music, dance, drama, art, sports in broader terms Scholastic aspects consist of curricular or topic-specific areas. While co-scholastic consists of Co-Curricular activities, Life Skills, Values and Attitudes. These activities transform and shape the personality of students by making them more confident and expressive. These activities are designed to awaken cultural awareness and the development of aesthetic sense. The art programme is offered through a multiplicity of Performing arts and Visual Arts. It provides students with an opportunity to engage in innovative collaboration, exchange, and express ideas.

Co-Scholastic is given equal importance in area of assessing students’ personality development. Learning outside of the standard academic curriculum involves a variety of activities that aid in a student’s overall development that goes beyond academic brilliance. Evaluation Of Scholastic And Non -Scholastic Areas

Evaluation in Mayoor School is a continuous process. Besides cognitive sphere, social, emotional physical, moral, and aesthetic domains are also considered. Assessments of Scholastic areas includes all major subjects. Apart from the ability to create, comprehend, communication and other areas are also assessed. As Mayoor assures for comprehensive evaluation. Non-Scholastic achievements are assessed based on questionnaires, projects, participation, within non scholastic areas, attendance, social adjustment, physical and moral development.

Assessment Of Co-Scholastic Areas

Co- Scholastic areas are regularly assessed based on child’s interest. Art and craft competitions, Music and Dance competitions, sports activities are used as an evaluation tool and are properly graded on Work experience, SUPW, Attitude and values. 

Mastering Olympiads And Productive Work

At Mayoor, students are equipped to sit for competitive exams by giving them a chance to appear for Olympiads at school level- National Science Olympiad, International English Olympiad, International Mathematics Olympiad, National Cyber Olympiad, International General Competition. Olympiads help Mayoorians to sharpen their analytical skills. The Olympiad exams help the students to analyze each subjects’ strengths and weaknesses. Olympiads in Mayoor School are held annually for classes I-XII as it leads to an early exposure to learning and competition.  These tests help the students to think logically and support them to face future challenges confidently. Competitions like Spell Bee are conducted regularly. Spell Bee - a unique educational activity combines education, fun and competition. It helps in acquiring and mastering the art of language. Spell Bee also opens doors to a multitude of promising career aspects. Spell Bee lays the foundation for future competitive exams and gain prowess to sit for the IELTS assessments like, TOEFL, UPSC, GMAT, CAT and even inspire them to author books and scholarly articles.
