Debate and Dialogue: Students Shine at Mayoor School’s Youth Parliament
The Social Science Department organised an engaging Inter-House event, “Youth Parliament,” for students of Classes XI and XII on 14th May 2024. The session focused on the thought-provoking topic, “Media Trials and Judicial Fairness – Is Media Overstepping Its Role?”
The event unfolded in two rounds:
In the first round, each participant eloquently presented their arguments either for or against the topic. The second round featured an open debate, allowing all parties to engage in a lively and insightful discussion.
This event provided students with a valuable platform to enhance their research abilities, deepen their understanding of parliamentary procedures, and express their unique perspectives and ideologies.
Krishanu House secured the first position, followed by Vasudha House in second place and Varun House in third.
Principal Ms. Alka Awasthi emphasised that competitions like these are essential for broadening knowledge and sharpening students’ oratory skills.
