Elevating Classroom Excellence: A Micro-Teaching Session by the Mathematics Department
In a proactive stride towards continuous professional development, the Mathematics Department successfully conducted a focused micro-teaching session on 28 June 2025.
During the session, each participating educator meticulously prepared and delivered a concise lesson, specifically designed to emphasise a singular teaching competency. The process unfolded in three critical phases: meticulous planning, dynamic teaching, and insightful feedback, where constructive observations were shared, highlighting strengths and pinpointing precise areas for further refinement.
Through this immersive experience, teachers actively practiced and refined a range of essential pedagogical skills. These included the judicious use of appropriate teaching aids, the art of crafting effective questioning techniques to stimulate student thinking, meticulous lesson planning and engaging presentation delivery, creating vibrant classroom interaction and student engagement, and mastering critical time management and reinforcement strategies.
The micro-teaching session significantly elevated teacher confidence in their instructional abilities, refined their communication strategies, and enriched their overall pedagogical repertoire.
