Mesopotamia Comes to Life: Class XI History Exhibition
Students of Class XI G & H created an engaging Mesopotamian history exhibition, bringing key innovations and cultural aspects to life. A successful gallery included replicas of cuneiform clay tablets and a detailed focus on ziggurats.
Moving beyond textbook definitions, students used materials like cardboard and clay to construct models of ziggurats. This activity demonstrated that ziggurats were not tombs, but massive, tiered temples built to honour the city's patron deity, allowing students to grasp their profound architectural, religious, and cultural significance.
This hands-on process, which involved research, design, and analysis, developed deeper learning, encouraged critical thinking, and enhanced collaborative skills, making abstract concepts tangible.
Vice Principal Ms. Sunita Dahiya appreciated the exhibition and said that true learning happens when students move from mere reading to creating.
