National Museum: History Comes Alive for Class XII
The National Museum, New Delhi, transformed into a 'living classroom' for Class XII Humanities students on 9th October 2025. This educational trip provided a crucial, first-hand understanding of India's vast historical and cultural legacy, directly complementing their curriculum.
A major highlight was the Harappan Civilisation Gallery, where students viewed famous artefacts like the bronze 'Dancing Girl,' bringing the Indus Valley Civilisation to life. They then explored the rich sculptures of the Maurya, Shunga, and Gupta periods, gaining insights into the evolution of ancient art and religious beliefs. The exquisite Indian Miniature Painting Collection fascinated students, enabling them to connect art styles (Mughal, Rajasthani) with the social changes of the medieval era.
The visit successfully bridged the gap between classroom knowledge and tangible reality, leaving students with a profound appreciation for their heritage and a renewed passion for their subjects.
Principal Ms. Alka Awasthi said that
the value of such practical exposure is immeasurable in promoting a deep and lasting appreciation for our nation's rich heritage.
