Real-World Quality Standards: BIS Industrial Visit
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) organised an industrial visit for students of Mayoor School, Noida, to KUHL, a unit of Kent RO System Ltd., located in Noida on 11 November 2025. Students from classes IX and XI participated enthusiastically in this enriching educational trip.
The primary objective was to provide learners with real-world exposure to industrial processes, quality standards, and the importance of BIS certification in ensuring product safety and reliability. The students gained valuable hands-on insights into real-life industrial operations.
They learned critical manufacturing concepts, including: the design, assembly, and testing of electric fans; the intricate workings of motors (coil winding and rotation mechanisms); the role of aerodynamics in blade design; and how safety and energy efficiency are checked. The visit underscored the significance of maintaining stringent quality control throughout the automated and skilled labour-intensive production process.
Principal Ms. Alka Awasthi stated that such visits are crucial for bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring students truly understand the vital role of standardisation in modern industry.
