Climbing the Steps to Multiplication Mastery
The "Hop on the Stair" multiplication activity was highly successful in engaging Grade III students. It reinforced their multiplication skills through repetitive practice and helped them memorize the products of single-digit numbers in a fun, interactive way. The physical aspect of the activity kept students motivated and attentive, while peer support fostered a positive, collaborative classroom atmosphere.
In the activity, students selected two number cards, each with a single-digit number (0-9), and calculated the product. They then hopped to the stair labelled with the corresponding product. The stairs were pre-labelled with all possible products of single-digit multiplications. The activity was conducted in an orderly manner, with each student taking turns.
Special thanks to our Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi, for her visionary guidance and support in fostering a culture of learning and growth.
