Mayoor Hosts CBSE National Storytelling Competition

Mayoor School had the proud privilege of hosting the prestigious CBSE National Storytelling Competition on 27th and 28th January 2020.This mega event brought together 60 participants from all over India and abroad who were shortlisted at the regional level. It was truly a fulfilling and enriching experience to be the privileged hosts for this exuberant event that celebrated the spirit of narration and creativity. This offered a platform to the young narrators for storytelling as the buzz word to juxtapose their ideas into thoughts and connect, empathize and elucidate within the folds of comprehensive learning process.

The eminent guests who presided over the event included distinguished Dr. Joseph Emmanuel, Director Academics,Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director, Training and Skill Education, Sh. Giriraj Garg, Chief Vigilance Officer, Dr Praggya M.Singh,Joint Secretary, Academics, Dr. Sweta Singh,Joint Secretary, Academics, Sh. Manish Agarwal,Regional Officer, Noida and other CBSE Officials. A panel of esteemed Judges with immaculate experience accredited in the field of creative expressions and evaluated the story narration on their merit. Worthy Principals from various schools in Delhi and NCR also graced the occasion. Recently crowned Miss Teen Asia in the Pageant held at Panama, Ex-Mayoorian Mannat Kaur also attended the valedictory ceremony amidst huge applause and cheers.

Dr Biswajit Saha congratulated the participants for presenting stories that manifested their creative expression and verbal proficiency. He also applauded the host school for giving them a platform to unleash their talent. Dr Joseph Emmanuel in his address endorsed the fact that Experiential Learning is an active methodology where learners put their acquired knowledge and skills to relevant and meaningful use. He appreciated the young taletellers for their ability to communicate, interact, convince and connect. He suggested all stakeholders in education to incorporate such innovative techniques in the learning process to make it more joyful and experimental.

The Inaugural and Valedictory ceremony saw a potpourri of cultural and musical rendition of songs and dance performances.

The top 12 winners were felicitated in the glittering valedictory ceremony. The Principal Ms. Alka Awasthi,Mayoor School, Noida appreciated this endeavour of CBSE and stated that on this platform each storyteller created a distinctive conversance bringing out their creative prowess and contributed towards developing communication skill.
