Mayoor School, Noida Hosts University of Lincoln (UK) Delegation under CBSE–British Council Collaboration
Mayoor School, Noida was privileged to host a distinguished delegation from the University of Lincoln, United Kingdom, as part of the CBSE–British Council collaboration focused on strengthening internal assessment practices in Science in alignment with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023.
The visiting delegation comprised Dr. Anita Backhouse, Senior Lecturer in Chemistry; Dr. Nikolaos Fotou, Senior Lecturer in Physics and an advocate of evidence-based pedagogical practices in science education; and Dr. Alan Edmiston, an experienced educator and international consultant specialising in reasoning skills, classroom dialogue, and inclusive STEM education, accompanied by Ms. Pinal Rana, Education Manager, British Council India.
After a guided tour of the school campus, the delegation visited the science laboratories and observed a live Science laboratory session to gain insights into hands-on experimental practices and student engagement. This was followed by classroom observations and interactions with students from Classes VII and VIII, offering valuable perspectives on classroom pedagogy, assessment strategies, and learner participation.
The visit concluded with an interactive meeting with the Science faculty teaching Classes VI to XII, which facilitated enriching discussions on internal assessment, teaching methodologies, and alignment with the goals of NCF-SE 2023. Addressing the delegation, Principal Ms.Alka Awasthi expressed gratitude to the University of Lincoln and the British Council, and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to inquiry-driven learning, robust internal assessment practices, and the adoption of global best practices in science education.
The interaction proved to be a meaningful professional learning experience for the school community and reinforced Mayoor School, Noida’s dedication to innovative pedagogy, reflective assessment, and sustained global academic collaboration in the field of Science education.
